They call me mama!

My journey to motherhood started 4 years ago. I found out on July 8, 2014 that I was pregnant with our first child. I was beyond excited! My dream of being a mama was coming true and I couldn’t wait to share that with my whole family! A week later though, I found out that I was loosing our baby and having a miscarriage. That was the worst, I was beyond devastated! The fear and devastation that was going on with me was that I thought that it was something I had done! I was very lucky to have the support system that I did with my husband and my family. On Christmas Eve morning of 2014 I had another positive pregnancy test! This time however I really kept it a secret. I did tell immediate family and that was it until the end of the first trimester. The second I laid eyes on my princess, my rainbow baby was one of the best moments of my life! The doctor who delivered Rosalee was absolutely amazed that she was 10 pounds 0.2 ounces! (she was weighed 3 times to make sure it was correct) We didn’t really ‘try’ for our next baby. I ended up going off birth control and we wanted to see what would happen naturally. I was pregnant within 3 weeks. I knew right away that I was having a boy this time. With this delivery my doctor (the same one who delivered Rosalee) wanted me to have a 35 week weight ultrasound to see how much he was weighing. I was induced at 39 weeks pregnant and Jude was 8 pounds 7 ounces!

I definitely know how fortunate I am to be able to conceive, carry and give birth to my own children! I am blessed beyond measure! Where will I go from here? Do we want more children? Well that answer is simple; yes! I have always wanted to have children. In fact I would probably rival the Duggar family if money was no object! But, the one thing I have learned the hard was is that God is in control and he is the one calling the shots! 🙂 I look forward with excitement and anticipation for the future!
